- Meet in a public place during daylight — malls, petrol stations, police stations.
- Bring a friend or family member when handling cash or high-value goods.
- Inspect the item fully before paying. Don't feel pressured to close on the spot.
Paying and receiving payment
- Prefer instant EFT or cash you can verify. Avoid wire transfers to strangers.
- Never share your online banking password or OTPs — no legitimate buyer needs them.
- Confirm funds cleared in your account before releasing an item.
Spot the scams
- "Buyer" offers to overpay and asks you to refund the difference — always a scam.
- Requests to move off Only Ads to WhatsApp only, then push urgency and courier fees.
- Fake proof-of-payment screenshots. Wait for the money to reflect, not a screenshot.
